Amsler Grid

The Amsler Grid is a way of “self-checking” yourself for any changes that might be occurring in the center part of the retina, the macula.

Use your Amsler Grid twice a week. Tape it to your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, or another convenient place. Test one eye at a time, with your glasses.

Memorize how the grid looks for each eye–if lines start to become wavy that were not wavy before, or if boxes start to go missing, call our office to arrange a visit.
